Jailbreaking help me please?

my ipod is already 2.2.1 and i downloaded the 2.2.1 thing but it still isnt letting me jailbreak it.... also its in a zipped folder does that have anything to do with it? if so how do i unzip it?.... sorry im like a caveman at computers....
