I would recommend getting a used aluminum jon boat. It will last a lot longer and you don't have to worry about the transom rotting. You can find used ones on craigslist.com sometimes for only $100.00 and sometimes they come with trolling motors. As for trolling motors, if you cant get one with a boat, I recommend minn kota endura transom mounted motor. You can get a 30lb thrust motor for $114.00.
