How are new yorkers regarded in texas (south in general)?

One of my best friends that Ive known for atleast 15 years is from New York. And half the time I dont even think about it. And I was born and raised in the Houston area. But when it comes down to it he is still a Yankee!!lol But Houston is just as big of a city as New York. So its a lil different than some of our small towns. Most Texans just dont like the northern accent. Which neither do I really. But dont worry Texas is a great place to live and noo we dont all ride horses or wear cowboy hats.
